Issue 37

"Beside the path, I stoop to pluck an early dandelion and tuck it behind my ear, just like my girls used to do. And that reminds me of two carefully made clover necklaces, presented to me by eager, smiling boys who had woven their stems together with nimble, young fingers. Standing to stretch my back, I look around at the damp, dark earth I've exposed and think of warm, barefoot days when four sets of tiny toes trampled the fresh-plowed ground, leaving indelible footprints on my heart and in my memory. It's comforting to know that I'm still gardening with my children."
