Issue 53

"And then one day as Ruth examined her cards, she said, 'Funny, Aunt Minnie had the funniest garden!' We were all gardeners, so we listened patiently. 'She had three compost piles.' Ruth examined her cards more closely, rearranging them in her hand. 'One new one, one half-done, and one ready to use.'
Our interest began to wane. We already knew about composting.
Ruth went on, half to herself. 'Funny, every fall Aunt Minnie threw seeds in the half-finished one.' Now she had us. We looked at her, wondering why."
