Pat

Do I have to talk about myself? If so, let's get one thing clear right off--I am NOT a great gardener. I'm not even obsessed with gardening. Oh, I've been helping plants grow for decades and find a real joy and satisfaction in it, but DON'T drop in unannounced and expect to see a garden worth looking at. You'll be disappointed. I'm not kidding.

I'm an editor. I'm a writer. Father (definitely the main thing I'm trying to help raise is not flowers or fruit, but children). Husband. Canoeist (open boat, whitewater - love it). Musician (mandolin; Becky and I lead the music at our church). Hiker (you can step outside our door and bingle up Tater Knob).

I love my wife, my family, God, our home, the community of special people that we're part of, and the woods and rivers of western North Carolina. I love creating GreenPrints and really feel like it's a meaningful effort. I feel very, very blessed and grateful to be where I am, with who I am with, and doing what I do.

Or if you really want to learn more about me you can keep reading. The following is a January 2001 column I wrote for our local community paper, the Fairview Town Crier (www.fairviewtowncrier.com). It's called "Sacrament of the Present Moment" and you can read it here.
