The Little Shopkeeper

A Garden Adventure with Grandad

Read by Matilda Longbottom

Once upon a time in a world of endless possibilities, there lived a child who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. This child, full of wonder and imagination, spent blissful days playing in the garden with loving grandparents.

In this magical garden, the child transformed into many roles: a shopkeeper selling fruits and vegetables, a scientist exploring the wonders of nature, and a curious explorer discovering new treasures at every turn.

Their favorite activity was picking fruits and vegetables, indulging in the sweet taste of shiny orange tomatoes, juicy cucumbers, and delicious black grapes. Each bite was a burst of flavor, filling the child with happiness and excitement.

Under the watchful gaze of their Grandad, the child learned valuable lessons about the world around them. Together, they explored the mysteries of nature, from the bustling life of ants to the delicate dance of hoverflies.

With boundless creativity, the child set up a makeshift shop, proudly announcing the role of shopkeeper. Every item, from plant pots to pencils, held a special price of £59.16, much to the amusement of the grandparents.

As the day drew to a close, the child and grandad relaxed in the greenhouse, basking in the warmth of the sun. With thoughts of dinner and bedtime swirling in their minds, they savored the moment of peace and contentment.

And then, in a delightful twist, the child took a first sip of a mysterious dark liquid, wondering at the connection between the grapes on the vine and the fruity aroma in the mug. With laughter and cheers, they celebrated the joys of family and togetherness.

As the sun set on another day in the garden, the child drifted off to sleep, dreaming of new adventures yet to come.
